Keys to Making a Company Brand Employees Want to Stick With

Published on June 26, 2017 by Robert Cordray

When it comes to making a company brand, companies are tasked with choosing between several key points of focus. Some companies want to make themselves known for their customer service, others want to be known for high quality products. What type of brand you choose to make for your company is what sets it apart from the competition. Companies like Google have made a name for themselves on how well they treat their employees. While this may not initially seem like the most direct method to drive profits, it does have a rather significant impact on how your employees view the company, which is huge. Maintaining a good relationship with employees improves employee productivity and morale and creates a more pleasant work environment. There are several ways to go about putting your employees first, but all methods improve the employee relationship with the company.

Money Speaks Volumes

First and foremost, people need money. It is usually the reason people seek jobs in the first place. This doesn’t mean, however, that you have to just throw money at people to make them happy. A good rate of pay can make a world of difference, but sometimes saving people money is just as crucial. Having great employment benefits can be an incentive to employees and improve their overall happiness in the workplace. Benefits are often the deciding factor for people looking at multiple jobs. If your benefits are the best among your competition, your company will become the favorite among other potential employers.

The Fun Factor

Money can’t buy happiness, unfortunately. Even if the pay is good and the benefits are extensive, work can be a drag if employees don’t enjoy their job. Regardless of whether your company offers the dream job that the individual employees are looking for, you can always create a work environment that is fun and enjoyable. Employees like having things like parties and activities to take part in. If they can have fun at work, it can keep them from feeling like their job is taxing on their body and mind. Nobody wants to look at their place of work and feel a sense of anxiety. Outside of this, things like holiday bonuses can help paint your company as one that cares for its employees. It also doesn’t hurt to let employees enjoy your products free-of-charge from time to time. Don’t give away too much, but if employees can enjoy your products, they can become more attached to the company as a whole.

Nobody Wants to Feel Trapped

The goal of creating a company that employees want to work for is to not only promote employee productivity, but to reduce turnover and keep employees longer. The only issue with this is that sooner or later, employees want to move up in the world. Everyone wants to improve their quality of life, so let them. Giving employees more opportunities to advance within your company can help keep them driven to stay with your business. If someone can improve their quality of life without having to find an entirely new job, they are likely to stick with your company.

Having a pro-employee company has numerous benefits. From employee productivity to employee loyalty, pursuing a positive relationship with your employees can become greatly profitable. There are several companies that have learned this by experience. Nu Skin is just one example of the effect these practices can have on a company and their employees. Just look at the Nu Skin reviews on Glassdoor and the benefits become obvious. Several employees have listed extensive reasons for why Nu Skin was a good place to work. Implement the suggestions we’ve given, and your company will be well on the way to maintaining top talent.
