Microsoft Word made the writing experience not just for the writers but for everyone a lot easier and a lot more fun by introducing such convenient features that the process of writing has become an act of enjoyment for everyone. People who never thought would end up writing, started their careers in this field just because it has become so much easier with the coming of applications like Microsoft Word. It does not restrict itself to the professional writers; in fact, it facilitates people belonging to every hierarchical layer of the career line. Speaking for myself, every time I had to write an email, I would quickly open the application on my phone and type a draft before sending it officially to anyone. It helped me in eliminating as many mistakes from the draft as it could; I could, in fact, write multiple drafts until I created a good professional one. Not only did it help in correcting my grammar or spelling errors, it also taught me a lot on structuring sentences. If anyone asks, I would recommend it as a necessity for phone or any other device. You can download the application on your phone which is absolutely free. All you need is an internet connection that supports downloading, for which, Xfinity deals might just be the right choice.
If I have you convinced on this note, I would like to mention some hacks of this software that will much more convenience in the experience. For example, have you heard of it Cloud feature? The purpose of Quick Styles? Safe mode? Merging documents? If you don’t know yet, give me a chance to elaborate on all of the above stated features.
The collaboration as Word did with Cloud brought a huge relief in the process of sharing content and drafts with other people around. It also helped in sharing your own drafts on different devices, which means that you did not have to carry a USB everywhere with you for the transference of data.
At office, you can install this application to share a document, a report or file with your colleagues or your boss for editing. The feature of cloud storage has enabled this feature of internal exportation.
2. Quick Styles
If there is a specific format of writing that you use while typing a draft, you don’t have to spend hours on the formatting every time you draft a file. You can simply make your software remember the formatting by selecting “Quick Styles” on the menu. It is an excellent tool for writers who are accustomed to writing in a specific format. I struggle through the same process when writing. I have to write in a specific format to keep my creative process working. Many of us are selective in this matter and there’s nothing to feel sorry about. One can shift from personal formatting to official by simply switching through Quick Styles.
3. Alternative Alphabet Cases
If you call yourself a grammar-nazi, you know well the worth of syntax. You cannot help but fix the small errors that you see through the content and there’s no way better to deal with this but by using Microsoft Word that helps in fixing these issues. How do you correct the entire text, is the question here. The answer is simple: you press “Shift” and “F3” and select the entire text that needs to be changed. In a second, it will convert the entire of your content in the format that you wish to set it to.
4. Turn on the Safe Mode
Sometimes you upgrade your Word application or install an add-in that causes hindrance in the writing process. You fear your data might get lost and that is something that you cannot afford. What do you do with such an inconvenience? Either you save the document by pressing “Ctrl” and “S” every ten seconds, which does not seem like a good idea, or you can turn the safe mode on that will automatically save the document with every new move. You can enable this tool by pressing “Ctrl” and “Program”. Release the Ctrl key when the dialogue box appears to enable the safe mode. If you need to turn it off, you can simply exit the document and return to it with the previous settings and standard format.
5. Recovering the unsaved data
In the older versions of Word Microsoft, you won’t see this feature and unfortunately, many users have faced troubles in its absence. Sometimes people would have written a document of the word count around 2000 only to lose it due to poor system, power shutdown or accidental pressing of the shut-down. These instances costed you a huge deal of hard work and you obviously cannot afford it anymore. Here’s a quick fix to this: if accidentally you have lost the document, you can easily open the new document, go to the “File”, then click on the “Info” tab and thirdly, select “Manage Versions”. This is where you will find “Recover Unsaved Document” and there you have! Your lost document!
6. Use Quick Parts
There is a certain formatting, a certain content, a paragraph or a phrase that you need to use multiple times, you don’t have to type it as many times as you need it. What you can do is save some quick parts that you can use as many times as you want, without having to go through the painful process of typing the same text multiple times. What you have to do for that is open the “Insert” tab, choose “Quick Parts” from there, then select the text that needs to be saved and repeatedly used. Once that is saved, you can retrieve the selected text from the menu of Quick Parts.
7. Going to the last changes made
Sometimes while you’re typing a text, you accidentally remove or edit a part without actually knowing where the edit was made. You can check the last editing by simply pressing “Shift” and “F5” which will direct you to all the edits made in the document.
